Cystic Fibrosis can affect people from every nation on Earth
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition that affects the respiratory and digestive systems in the body. Tens of millions of people around the world are symptomless carriers of the gene, and birth rates are as high as 1 in 1800 in some countries.
Bronchiectasis is a respiratory, social determinant condition, meaning it is born of circumstances, ranging from smoking, through to malnutrition and infection, and it can affect anyone. It's model for treatment is based off those used for Cystic Fibrosis.
As someone with Cystic Fibrosis, my goal is to raise the profile and awareness of the condition to a global audience through producing a documentary, whilst travelling the length of Africa overland in an old Land Rover Defender.
